Sorrowland
“Vern is a captivating protagonist from page one: gritty, determined, flawed, clever, and resourceful. The story slowly fills in all the details of a life that wasn’t what it seemed, and offers an ending you can’t predict. Sorrowland is beautiful, ugly, engaging, and awe-inspiring.”

"I've always found the definition of machismo to be ironic, considering that pride is a word almost unanimously associated with queer people, the enemy of machistas. In particular, effeminate queer men represent a simultaneous rejection and embrace of masculinity . . . In a world desperate to erase us, queer Latinx men must find ways to hold... Read more »
Under the Whispering Door
By TJ Klune

Length: 14 hours 54 minutes
Under the Whispering Door
“If Wallace Price was still alive, I would want to meet him. Well, no, I would like to meet the dead Wallace because he’s much nicer that way; a true curmudgeon turned marshmallow as he accepts he’s done in this plane of existence. I wasn’t sure a book about death and grieving was what I needed this year, but upon finishing I can assure you this book is exactly what we all need right now. Klune’s signature quirky characters have that tendency to sneakily sink their hooks into your chest. Before I knew it, I had fallen in love with everyone, especially the ghost dog Apollo. There will likely be a lot of emotions in this reading experience, but it is all beautifully cathartic. Laughter, yes, and some tears. Many quietly profound passages had me pause to reflect and think about my own life and my family. I recommend reading it with a cup of tea and having someone you can hug within reach.”

Love & Other Disasters
“This book is warm, fuzzy, laugh out loud funny, full of heart, and incredibly real. It has the classic elements rom-com fans crave, but with a modern twist. The characters work on finding themselves as much as they work on finding each other, important social issues are touched upon, and yet there are still plenty of flirty, romantic, embarrassing, and steamy scenes mixed in. To put it simply, this book is like a heaping plate of your favorite comfort food, and it's safe to say you won't want this meal to end.”

Length: 2 hours 47 minutes
I'm Not Hungry But I Could Eat
“It’s wildly delightful to have such a slender short story collection provide a full course meal of emotion: savory, salty, sour, sweet, tender and all-around charming. These are portraits of hungry men--craving touch, love, and acceptance--and finding it in friends and family (and food). True to the title, I found myself satisfied by the end of the book, but excited for what Gonzalez will serve up next.”

Honey Girl
A Novel
By Morgan Rogers
Narrated by: York Whitaker
Length: 10 hours 11 minutes
If you enjoyed You Should See Me in a Crown, then you’ll love Honey Girl.
“This was a highly enjoyable read in that it was both romance and yet totally different than your usual romance ilk. A sweet love story unfurls in a reverse while paralleling to Grace's late coming-of-age and self realization.Grace's whole character arc was spot on, learning how to discover what she actually wants vs what her father wants, learning to center that, and then learning to take care of her mental health. I also loved the love story between Yuki and Grace. Obviously, they got off to a kind of rocky start but I loved that they got to fall in love all over again after that first night. Yuki's fascination with monsters and the unknown was so fun and I loved their lyrical characterizations of each other. York Whitaker was the perfect narrator with a voice of pure silken magic. I loved hearing Yuki's radio snippets in the audiobook format as well. I honesty did not know what to expect with this book but was generally swept away by Rogers' writing, characterizations, and LAYERS! She does so much in this book and it was all SO GOOD. Perfect for those that like a little romance with a side of self discovery and that need some LGBTQIA+ stories in their lives.”
