The Love Hypothesis

By Ali Hazelwood
Narrated by: Callie Dalton
Length: 11 hours 8 minutes

If you enjoyed The Kiss Quotient, then you’ll love The Love Hypothesis.

“Olive is a scientist. Olive is also not a dater. She dated a guy named Jeremy, but that ended because 1) she didn’t really care and 2) she saw sparks fly between him and her BFF. Olive wants her best friend to be happy and decides to kiss a random guy to prove that she has moved on. The problem is, the random guy she kisses turns out to be none other than the known asshole professor, Dr. Adam Carlsen. Mortified, Olive apologies, but it’s not long before everyone finds out and spreads the rumor that they are dating. As Olive tries to put a stop to it, she realizes with Adam, that both can gain something from a fake dating situation. Thus, they move forward with rules and an end date in mind. But what happens when Olive starts to see a softer side of Adam? One who buys her pumpkin spice lattes and gives her such encouragement regarding her science? Also, he is pretty gorgeous. Can Olive really keep this up? Or will it implode before their end goal? This book was such a surprise that had me curled up in bed for hours. The details, the character development, and the intensity of written emotion had me feeling like I had been wrecked and then put back together, only wanting more.”

Beautiful World, Where Are You

A Novel

By Sally Rooney
Narrated by: Aoife McMahon
Length: 10 hours 3 minutes

Beautiful World, Where Are You

“This is the first Sally Rooney book I've read. Rooney writes characters the way you meet people in life. Through their words and actions, you create a picture of their personalities, and even with glimpses into their private thoughts, which Rooney does here through email correspondence between two women, you still never get a complete picture of who they are. Because like the people you meet in life, they are a mystery to even themselves. I found the characters at once infuriating and endearing. There were moments when I didn't think I was going to like this book because I was so mad at one of them. But I couldn’t tear myself away. I wanted to know why they acted as they did and what was going to happen to them. The person who recommended this book to me said it made them cry. I didn't understand this. Then I reached the last sentence, turned the audio off, sat for a moment, and cried. I don't know why! Which, when I think about it, is something the characters in the book say a lot. And I suppose it's true. We don't know why for many things, but if we are happy, it doesn't really matter, does it? Aoife McMahon does a perfect job.”

A Slow Fire Burning

A Novel

By Paula Hawkins
Narrated by: Rosamund Pike
Length: 9 hours 19 minutes

A Slow Fire Burning

A Slow Fire Burning is full of clever twists, furnishes you with a steady stream of possible clues to keep your brain working, and tells each character's story in a way that I found deeply satisfying. It pushed all the right buttons for me for both a good British mystery and a good psychological thriller, and I especially loved spending a couple of days in its picturesque setting along the Regent's Canal in London.”
