People We Meet on Vacation

“What fun! This delightful book should be in every beach bag this summer. A hilariously comedic rom-com with memorable characters, set in varied vacation spots in various years. I enjoyed the changing timeline and seeing the relationship as it grew through the years.”

A Memoir

By Michelle Zauner
Narrated by: Michelle Zauner
Length: 7 hours 22 minutes

Crying in H Mart

“I was struck by just how much I loved this book for how it walks through grief not as a way to leave it behind, but as a way to remember its exact shape. I’m grateful for its funny, self-deprecating, and wise observations, and for its difficult beauty.”

Secrets of Happiness

“No one is better than Joan Silber at revealing the hidden links that connect people. The small, human details in Secrets of Happiness feel at first like ripples in a pond, but they prove in the end to be mighty waves in an ocean the size of the world.”

Mary Jane

A Novel

By Jessica Anya Blau
Narrated by: Caitlin Kinnunen
Length: 9 hours 44 minutes

Mary Jane

“This book was so stinking cute and was even better in audiobook format (Caitlin Kinnunen for the win!). I think the story was completely elevated by Broadway's Caitlin Kinnunen who's young but silky voice was perfectly able to capture the naiveté of Mary Jane and the roughness of Jimmy's singing voice. In general, the singing interludes of the audiobook are well worth the listen as they truly enliven the whole story. Mary Jane's aloofness as she enters this household that would be scoffed at by her straight-laced mother is very funny. The Cones live of cereal and takeout, with a fridge full of rotten and expired groceries. They also live freely with clothing, often stripping in front of each other and wearing clothing that Mary Jane's mother would consider risque. It's a coming of age story that spans only a single summer, where Mary Jane realizes how different life can be lived outside of her conservative household. Overall, a truly cute and light read that would be great for fans of coming of age stories and learning to push the boundaries on familial beliefs.”

The Woman with the Blue Star

By Pam Jenoff
Narrated by: Jennifer Jill Araya, Emily Lawrence & Nancy Peterson
Length: 12 hours 20 minutes

The Woman with the Blue Star

“In The Woman With the Blue Star, Jenoff continues to showcase herself as one of the masters of historical fiction, deftly intertwining emotional power with historical accuracy. Much like The Lost Girls of Paris, this is one our customers will be coming back for again and again.”

Mirrorland

By Carole Johnstone
Narrated by: Katie Leung
Length: 11 hours 38 minutes

Mirrorland

“This amazing debut novel opens with 11 year old twin girls cold, scared and alone late at night at a Scottish harbor in Edinburgh. All they will say are their first names and that they are waiting for a pirate ship. Twenty years later one of the twins, Catriona, is back in Scotland, for the first time in over 10 years. She is there because her twin, Ellice, has disappeared at sea and is presumed dead. Cat is sure that she would know if El is dead, even though they had not spoken in 10 years. She has come back to see what games El is now playing, because El was good at playing games and getting what she wanted. Cat’s search for answers takes her back to their childhood and the fantasy world of pirates, witches and clowns that she and El created in a hidden part of their house which they called Mirrorland. Memories which Cat thought were all part of their fantasy world suddenly become part of her current reality and in order to find out what happened to El she must finally face the reality of their tragic childhood, and separate out fiction from the facts she has refused to remember. Mirrorland is a modern day gothic where every page brings a new surprise. A surprise which will have you wondering what is real and what isn’t in this unusual, scary and surprisingly atmospheric novel which touches on horrible abuse, a mother’s desperate efforts to save her children, love, betrayal and above all else the bonds between sisters–especially twins.”

The Plot

By Jean Hanff Korelitz
Narrated by: Kirby Heyborne
Length: 10 hours 43 minutes

The Plot

“I devoured this smart, suspenseful novel about a failed novelist who reignites his career with a stolen plot and gains fame and notoriety. Korelitz’s depiction of the book world is a treat for those of us in it, but her twisty, psychologically astute plotting will hold broad appeal.”

Ariadne

A Novel

By Jennifer Saint
Narrated by: Barrie Kreinik
Length: 11 hours 59 minutes

Ariadne

“Satisfying the need for more Greek/Roman transformational myths from much-needed other viewpoints, Jennifer Saint delivers tales of Ariadne and her sister Phaedra’s life on Crete and beyond. Less heroic yarn and more character inquisitiveness — a refreshing addition.”

Madhouse at the End of the Earth

The Belgica's Journey into the Dark Antarctic Night

By Julian Sancton
Narrated by: Vikas Adam
Length: 13 hours 28 minutes

Madhouse at the End of the Earth

“What I love about polar expedition stories is imagining surviving the same situation. Madhouse at the End of the Earth is a fascinating study of chasing fame at any cost and the price paid when things go horribly wrong. A worthy addition to the canon of polar expedition history.”

The Music of Bees

A Novel

By Eileen Garvin
Narrated by: Thérèse Plummer
Length: 10 hours 57 minutes

The Music of Bees

“Comparing this book to Eleanor Oliphant left me a bit skeptical, but the comparison is fair and I’d even say that The Music of Bees stands on its own beautifully. Add in some interesting facts on bees and heartwarming stories of lovable, offbeat characters and you have a winner.”

Length: 7 hours 30 minutes

Pop Song

Pop Song is an engaging blend of art criticism, memoir, and travelogue with the raw and confessional style of the microblogging generation. Larissa Pham’s prose bounces seamlessly and dexterously from looking outward to inward and back with equal attention, passion, and insight.”

Olympus, Texas

A Novel

By Stacey Swann
Narrated by: Karissa Vacker
Length: 10 hours 16 minutes

Olympus, Texas

“A gripping debut that takes all of the skeletons out of the Briscoe family closet and throws them on the front lawn. The depth of character development speaks to my own east Texan family, which feels disconcerting and scandalous. A page-turning read that you won’t want to end.”

While Justice Sleeps

A Novel

By Stacey Abrams
Narrated by: Adenrele Ojo & Stacey Abrams
Length: 14 hours 54 minutes

While Justice Sleeps

“From the first pages, this crime novel from author/activist Stacey Abrams drew me into the world of the Supreme Court (and chess!) and the seedy underbelly of the U.S. government. This race through the streets of Washington, DC, also contains a deeply satisfying ending that I won’t give away.”

Meet Me in Another Life

“An absolutely incredible concept brought to life by a stunning new voice in literature. We get to know the two protagonists so completely as they live their lives. This novel has time travel, mystery, self-exploration, and at its heart true love. Just the best kind of storytelling.”
