Belinda's Picks

Since before she read Green Eggs and Ham cover to cover at age four, books have been intrinsic to Belinda's life. With scant spare time for leisure reading in college, she dedicated her electives to literature classes so she could read fiction and, by happenstance, earned a minor in English. Today, favorite subjects include Appalachian literature, science, human behavior, and, of late, resilience (and re-reading her favorite book for life, To Kill a Mockingbird, every couple of years, or so).

Lost in Time

By: A.G. Riddle

“I am not usually drawn to science fiction, but Lost In Time by A.G. Riddle pulled me in by page 1 - the characters are compelling and the story is mind-bending. I found myself at times - which times?!! past, present, future? - re-reading passages to see how that could possibly happen only to remind my startled self that this is science fiction!... Read more

“One-third of the number of birds alive 50 years ago in North America are gone. Vanished. Reading this brief, unflinching analysis in A Wing and a Prayer by Anders and Beverly Gyllenhaal stopped me cold. I closed the book and gazed out at my backyard bird feeder.
