What Moves the Dead
By T. Kingfisher
Narrated by: Avi Roque
Length: 5 hours 11 minutes
What Moves the Dead
“This was one of the best retellings of The Fall of The House of Usher I’ve ever read. Between the representation and the absolutely witty humor and excellently horrifying descriptions. This was an absolute joy to read. Also, half way through the book I learn that Avi Roque narrates the audiobook and I will listen to anything he narrates, because he’s: Just. That. Good. He added the right vibe and feel that this book begs to have. Now, no one talk to me about mushrooms for the next week or so, I’m temporarily horrified by them.”

Mexican Gothic
By Silvia Moreno-Garcia
Narrated by: Frankie Corzo
Length: 10 hours 39 minutes
Mexican Gothic
“Set in Mexico in the 50's, this book follows a young woman, Noemi, to a moldy old Gothic manor in the countryside where she is hoping to find out why her newly married cousin is sending letters home detailing strange visions and a real fear of her new family. Moreno-Garcia's writing was fantastic, I felt immersed in the creepy mansion, imagining often I could smell the rot and could hear the walls and floorboards creaking with the fungus that seemed to be moving throughout. Noemi's character was heroic and brave and while she made choices that caused me to cringe, I rooted for her throughout, feeling triumphant with her when she found ways to escape the disturbing household. This story is part mystery, part horror and will really get under your skin if you let it!”

The Once and Future Witches
By Alix E. Harrow
Narrated by: Gabra Zackman
Length: 16 hours 3 minutes
The Once and Future Witches
“Alix Harrow’s The Ten Thousand Doors of January was my favorite book last year, so I had incredibly high expectations when I picked up The Once and Future Witches. This book is very different, but I adore it just as much! Set in the late 1800s in a world with a slightly alternate history from ours, women are fighting for the vote and losing. Three wayward sisters decide to challenge the patriarchy by bringing back witchcraft. Told through familiar stories twisted in new ways, this book is incredible. You will not be able to put it down, from the beautifully written introduction to the pulse-pounding ending!”

Home Before Dark
A Novel
By Riley Sager
Narrated by: Cady McClain & Jon Lindstrom
Length: 11 hours 3 minutes
Home Before Dark
“I love a book within a book, and this is exactly what Riley Sager provides in Home Before Dark. Maggie Holt returns to her abandoned childhood home after the death of her father. Her family fled this 'House of Horrors' when she was five. Alternating between Maggie's point of view and chapters from her father's nonfiction bestseller about their time in the haunted house, this audiobook is creepy perfection! If you have watched The Haunting of Hill House on repeat, this is a perfect listen for you!”
