Amy Jill Levine

Dr. Amy-Jill Levine is the Mary Jane Werthan Professor of Jewish Studies and University Professor of New Testament Studies, Vanderbilt. She is the first Jewish person to teach New Testament at the Pontifical Biblical Institute in Rome. She describes herself as an unorthodox member of an Orthodox synagogue and a Yankee Jewish feminist who taught New Testament in a Christian divinity school in the Buckle of the Bible Belt.
