Plain Bad Heroines
“Loved this creepy, gothic, queer, centuries-spanning tale about obsession, forbidden love and curses. I hope you aren't afraid of yellow jackets. What's that sound? It's buzzing. Do you hear it?”Zinna, A Great Good Place for Books

“Another terrific novel by Lisa Jewell. I loved listening to the different voices of the characters as the novel is told from several points of view. I knew nothing about the book before I started and I really think that helped amplify my enjoyment as I kept trying to guess which character was really telling the truth and which was the victim and which was the bad guy/gal. Each of the characters in the book had very interesting back stories and they all came together after lots of twists and turns in a very satisfying ending.”Nancy, Fiction Addiction
The Cold Millions
By Jess Walter
Narrated by: Edoardo Ballerini, Gary Farmer, Marin Ireland, Cassandra Campbell, MacLeod Andrews, Tim Gerard Reynolds, Mike Ortego, Rex Anderson, Charlie Thurston & Frankie Corzo
Length: 11 hours 29 minutes
“The gorgeous writing, vivid setting, compelling characters, and engrossing story aren’t even the best parts of this novel. Instead, I just keep marveling at how Jess Walter takes events from history to illuminate our present while keeping them rooted in their own time, from the labor movement to class, race, and gender equality and civil rights issues, to protests and freedom of speech. The northwest in 1909 has never been so relevant. Beautiful Ruins was a hard act to follow but, amazingly, Walter manages it with aplomb.”Ariana Paliobagis, The Country Bookshop

Between Earth and Sky: Book #1
“This is a whirlwind of a first installment and I am equally psyched and disappointed that I have to wait for the others to come out. I am a huge huge fan of the audio edition of this book, it is so beautifully done with a full cast and the image of each character is so complete and vivid. A total dream to listen to; I found myself just sitting in my car to finish chapters and find out what was next. It feels sci-fi-esque so anyone who is into space fantasy I think would really enjoy this with its otherworldly-ness. The story definitely keeps you hungry as each character's ambition and intention develop at breakneck speed and all come crashing together at the same moment. Truly just a fun story to get into!”Katie, McLean & Eakin Booksellers
“Profoundly honest, shapely, ambitious, engrossing.”—New York Times Book Review

A Deadly Education
The Scholomance: Book #1
“A Deadly Education is absolutely delicious, and I enjoyed every page! The Scholomance is a ruthlessly dangerous magic school, where even sitting in the wrong seat at breakfast could mean death. El is a third year student with an affinity for mass destruction, who is struggling to NOT kill all her classmates. Full of scheming, sarcastic teenage angst, and dark humor, this is the fantasy novel I didn't know I was dying for.”Julia, Boulder Book Store
The Once and Future Witches
“Alix Harrow’s The Ten Thousand Doors of January was my favorite book last year, so I had incredibly high expectations when I picked up The Once and Future Witches. This book is very different, but I adore it just as much! Set in the late 1800s in a world with a slightly alternate history from ours, women are fighting for the vote and losing. Three wayward sisters decide to challenge the patriarchy by bringing back witchcraft. Told through familiar stories twisted in new ways, this book is incredible. You will not be able to put it down, from the beautifully written introduction to the pulse-pounding ending!”Carrie Deming, Dog Ear Books

Before the Ever After
“Powerful story written in verse form which explores the damaging effect of football-related brain injuries on not only the players, but their families and communities. Paints an honest and difficult picture of grappling with loss and change, while also providing hope and a model of resiliency.”Tina, Leaves Book and Tea Shop
A Wolf Called Wander
“ This is the ultimate adventure book!! I loved this book!! The author does a wonderful job of bringing OR-7 (aka Journey) to readers in a way that makes animals easier to understand. Her descriptions of his senses, hear/smell and his wag. The things that he has to learn as a pup really makes this book about family and the circle of life.”Chris, Good Neighbor Bookstore
