The Name of the Wind
Kingkiller Chronicle: Book #1
“The Name of the Wind is a very straightforward book which you absolutely should not take at face value just because of its upfront nature. Rothfuss builds a slow burn fantasy narrative meant to keep you warm throughout dark nights of literary pursuits, rather than a showy bonfire that burns through all its material in order to hook you. Kvothe, the focal point of the story, is a character study in noticing subtle contrasts. However, the story Kvothe tells is always cordial, and Poedhl's mellow reading only lends itself to enhancing the obliging chronicle. A beneficial factor given the hefty size of Rothfuss' debut novel, a factor which can scare away the faint of heart or the light on time. It is well worth the effort, and ultimately a rewarding reading and listening experience.”Rayne, The Liberty Book Company

Once Upon a River
If you enjoyed The Snow Child, then you’ll love Once Upon a River.
“If Dickens wrote suspense this would be it. I enjoyed this meandering tale that is a bit folktale a bit fairytale. A wonderful set of characters, some with hearts that are true as gold. Themes of guilt and many secrets prevail as well as hope and the love for a child. Although the tale flows like the Thames (which has a huge part) there is the undercurrent that “something is going to happen”. This is a story for storytellers. Good if you liked Snow Child and 10,000 Doors of January. The audio is excellent!”Karin, Bookworm of Edwards

The Rules of Magic
“In a dazzling, emotive prequel to her bestselling novel Practical Magic, Alice Hoffman brings the reader back into the world of the Owens family. The Rules of Magic takes us back two generations with practical Franny, who must learn how to love; sensitive Jet, who must learn how to persevere; and restless Vincent, who must learn how to be happy. Hoffman's writing is frank, tender, vivid, and elusive all at once. Full of sorrow and beauty and courage, The Rules of Magic is a delicious, satisfying read.”Heather Herbaugh, Mitzi's Books
The Prequel to Practical Magic
“I so wanted to read this slowly and savor every page since this may be the last time we get to venture into this world of magic and the Owens family. But as if entranced by Alice Hoffman’s magic, the pages were turning faster and faster and I devoured this book in two sittings. No one tells a story like Alice Hoffman, and I only hope she finds a way to bring this magical family back to us again in the future. I simply loved this book. It’s everything you want from Alice Hoffman — a great story of love and magic!”Julie Slavinsky, Warwick's

“Deborah Harkness' books are brain candy for the educated person. Her contemporary fantasies, filled with vampires, witches, and deamons, veer into historical fantasy (thanks to the long lives of characters). With a reader who can shift accents with ease, this audio book is enthralling. You'll be just as smitten by Harkness' descriptions of libraries, laboratories, and research as you will by her romances, making this a romance for the sapiosexual.”Marika, Porter Square Books

The Lost Queen
The Lost Queen: Book #1
“The prose, imagery, and clever writing make for a profound and vivid story. Truly, you experience this book more than read it. The history and legends spring to life so forcefully you will feel as if you've become part of the story. I was so enthralled with this story that I read it in two sittings; I just could not get enough of Languoreth's story. She is the type of woman you admire. If you're looking for a book to just get lost in, this is the book for you! ”Katrina, Anderson's Bookshop
