At GiftLit we believe good books make great gifts. A book given should stand out and be worthy and enjoyable. GiftLit books are special because we work with many literary experts to carefully choose the best books in each category. If a book doesn't meet our quality standards, you won't find it in our collections.

GiftLit was founded in 2006 by two Bay Area mothers - Deirdre Hockett and Susheela Vasan - who wanted high-quality books for their children and for out-of-town friends and family. GiftLit values literacy and believes strongly in the special connection books create between people. GiftLit's goal is to make it easy to confidently give a gift of quality books to people of any age and reading preference that will make this special connection happen.
