If your child is between the ages of nine and twelve, you are in the throes of the 'between' years. Not quite a child and not yet a teenager, tweens embody a very specific stage of development that once understood will revolutionise the way you parent, educate and support those in your care.

In Tweens, award-winning parenting educator Michelle Mitchell explains that this is the most rapid period of development since toddlerhood. Right now, before the full pressures of high school hit, you have a window of opportunity that can change the trajectory of adolescence and beyond.

Using the results from her recent survey of more than 2000 parents and tweens, along with interviews with experts, Michelle compassionately guides parents through their children's friendship issues, mood swings, confidence crises, technology habits, sibling rivalry, body image concerns and seemingly inexplicable behaviour. She provides invaluable practical advice and groundbreaking research from leading organisations to reassure parents that tweens are ready to be switched on to their potential, and every trusted adult in their lives can be a part of that process.

Michelle Mitchell (Author, Reader)
Michelle Mitchell is an educator, author and award-winning speaker. She has been termed 'the teenage expert' by the media and is sought after for her compassionate and grounded advice about parenting tweens and teens. Michelle started her career as a teacher, but soon discovered a special interest in wellbeing. She left teaching in 2000 and founded Youth Excel, a 'boutique' health promotion charity that delivered tailor-made life skills programs and psychological services to thousands of young people and their families each year. Today she uses her experience to champion parents of tweens and teens.

Felicity Jurd (Reader)
Felicity Jurd is a Sydney-born actress and voice artist who has spent a large part of her life overseas, including lots of time in the UK, USA, France and New Zealand. She holds a degree in English Literature & French Language at Macquarie University and soon after went to New York to study full time at Atlantic Theatre Company, NYC. Her first acting role was when she was only eight years old, when she played Young Mary Quinn in Land of Hope, with Drew Forsythe playing her father and Melita Jurisic playing her aunt.

During her time in London, Felicity had the great fortune to work on her craft at LAMDA with the incredible teachers there. Following her training at LAMDA, she appeared in Green Means Stop, directed by Will Middleton and starring Pooja Shah, which won the Rob Knox Best Community Film Award. She also appeared in the critically acclaimed production of Playing with Fire by Strindberg, directed and translated by Anna Ostergren.

Further stage credits include: Eve in Paradise (Best Actress nomination: Short & Sweet), Trisha in the sold-out season of Five Women Wearing the Same Dress (Darlinghurst Theatre), understudy for all 4 female roles in The Vegemite Tales (London, West End), Nurse Ratched in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (London) and Sandra in Sport for Jove's production of One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (Sydney), directed by Kim Hardwick. She has also starred in Henry V directed by Antoinette Blaxland; The Hour We Knew Nothing of Each Other directed by Michael Gow, where she also choreographed a small section for Michael Gow on request; and I May Fly (Sydney, London, New York), about radio actress May Pusey (nee Hart). The Stage London applauded her physical portrayal of all the ages of the character (age 4 to 80), while Time Out London noted her vocal ability for accents and comic timing.

Felicity has appeared in the award-winning short films Great Expectations, directed by Jared Morgan and 6ate7 starring Amanda Maple-Brown. She has also worked extensively in corporate films including work for Westpac (2017 and 2018), Barclays Bank (2015), Anglo-American (2013) and many more.

Other screen acting credits include: birthing triplets in Doctor Doctor, Home & Away and A Country Practice. Felicity has worked extensively in independent film, including starring in Love Online, Waiting for God, Dust, Into the Sunlight, Blockdown (due for release in 2021) and many more. She also appeared in a short film in honour of preventing domestic violence called Distance to Now as an actor, produced by Dan Balcaban and directed the London unit.

Felicity has been hired by production companies, theatre companies and individuals to prepare actors for professional roles on screen and stage, including Tiger Aspect UK, Disney AU, Ambience Entertainment, ABC TV, Channel 9 and the Ensemble Theatre.

She is currently in pre-production for a feature film, Evicted, due to be shot in early 2021, where she will play another comic role for the award-winning team at The Story Mill.
