“Y'all know how I say PUT IT IN YOUR FACE? Do it immediately. The audio narrators deserve whatever awards they give for making fictional characters feel so real I want to call Hendrix and check on her mom. I'll admit book 2 didn't hit me as hard, I actually found the friendship between the ladies to be so much YASS GIRL and I just wasn't in the mood for it but it seemed much more authentic and uplifting in book 3. Having personal experience and a vested interest with Alzheimer's, I was curious how Ryan would handle this storyline and she didn't mess around. She kept it painfully real without turning it into tragedy porn. The moments when Hendrix's mom slips away then suddenly recognizes her are wrought with visceral emotion and so well performed. ”
