In Los Angeles a psychotic police sergeant and a psychopath are obsessed with sex. They tangle when the sergeant sees a connection in a twenty-year series of murders. When he sets out to solve them, much violence and sex ensue. The plot, by the author of LA CONFIDENTIAL, seems implausible, even for Los Angeles. But L.J. Ganser's confident delivery grows on you until you almost believe that the bizarre events are actually happening. He gives every character an individual voice and personality, which, given the prevailing level of psychological disturbance, is not a trivial feat. Ganser is an excellent guide for a wild tour through the underbelly of Los Angeles.
