Born into poverty in southwest Virginia in 1883, Oliver Napoleon Hill was encouraged to write by his stepmother and soon discovered a talent for it. His classic book Think and Grow Rich had sold twenty million copies by the time of Hill’s death in 1970 and remains a cornerstone of the modern self-actualization movement. Before passing, Hill established the Napoleon Hill Foundation as a nonprofit educational institution, whose mission is to perpetuate his philosophy of leadership, self-motivation, and individual achievement.
