Blighted by phonophobia, a history student takes refuge from the London din in a quiet bookshop off Charing Cross Road. There he makes a chance discovery: an old scrap of paper hidden in a dusty book. On that scrap is a code hiding a lost musical score—the last work of the evil Anton Valderberg Drache! With Halloween approaching, the student races to unlock the mystery, unaware of the supernatural powers he is about to unleash.

Phonophobia was recorded live at London’s Leicester Square Theatre.

Jack Bowman is a freelance actor, writer, director, an award-winning radio drama director and producer for Wireless Theatre, and the associate director of LOST Theatre. At Wireless, he has written for Timothy West and Prunella Scales and directed projects featuring Stephen Fry, Christopher Timothy, Juliet Stevenson, Brian Blessed, and Jo Brand, as well as showcasing a large number of up-and-coming new audio performers and writers. Bowman also serves as an audio industry tutor at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, and SPID.

Robert Valentine is a writer, director, and producer whose Wireless Theatre credits include directing all nine episodes of the award-winning Springheel Saga series, as well as Burke and Hare, Kindred and Crooker’s Kingdom. Outside of Wireless, his credits include directing the original production of Frozen at the Etcetera Theatre, cowriting The Night of the Hellhound: LIVE! and working on LOST Theatre’s 2015 revival of Jez Butterworth’s Jerusalem. Valentine also lectures in voice-reel preparation for the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art and the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art.
