This is a story that could have only happened on the Jersey Shore during the summer of ’69, a time when the social fabric was tearing apart, in a place where that fabric had never been very well knit together. Elysiana is both a fabulist’s look at a lost time and place and a hurtling thriller. It’s a tale of two types of transition: the personal and the grand, all played out within the isolated magic of a barrier island.
Chris Knopf’s mystery novels have received exceptional accolades, with critics likening his work to that of Elmore Leonard, Dashiell Hammett, Robert Parker, and Raymond Chandler. He is a sailor, cabinetmaker, and advertising executive in Connecticut, and he and his wife spend considerable time at their Long Island home in Southampton.
Jim Meskimen is a stage, film, and television actor who has appeared in many well-known movies and television shows. He acted in Apollo 13 and Frost/Nixon, both of which were nominated for Best Picture Oscars. He is the winner of an AudioFile Earphones Award and lives in Los Angeles with his wife, actress Tamra Meskimen.
