Learn moreA small country town. A conscientious cop. And a whole
lot of secrets.
Constable Rhys Morton is new to Featherwood Falls and knows
one thing for certain—he wants to remain in this village as much as he wants to
remain a cop. But just as he uncovers troubling historical information, an
accusation threatens his security and he must weigh up his options. Should he
pursue the cold case and risk ruffling powerful feathers, or protect his future
and a budding romance?
Claire Shepherd is still reeling from her father’s death and
when fresh heartbreak strikes, she seeks peace in the haven of Featherwood
Station, her childhood home. Sparks fly between Claire and the new cop in town
and she is torn between her dream of managing her father’s legacy or falling
for a man whose position is only temporary.
Alarm bells chime when new neighbours move in. Is this
little town the sleepy hollow Rhys believed it to be? Desperate to uncover
local secrets, he seeks Claire’s help. After all, she knows the area and he has
nothing to lose—except his heart.
Heather Reyburn enjoyed an idyllic childhood in New Zealand before settling on the Darling Downs in Queensland. With a passion for nature, animals, reading and years of experience in the rural sector, it wasn’t long before her rural lifestyle inspired dreams of writing stories of her own. She loves happy endings, history, suspense, and characters who remain with the reader long after “The End”. When not writing, Heather is often found in the garden or spending time with her husband and family.
"I’ve been telling stories for as long as I can remember. Making people think and feel things. Allowing them to escape their daily lives. I hold a Bachelor of Theatre Arts majoring in Acting and Voice and I had a successful and award-winning career in theatre for more than a decade before starting my family. These days, narrating audiobooks and other voiceover work gives me all the creative satisfaction I need without any of the things I never really liked about being a ‘visible’ actress. I love the pace of audiobook work. I love being able to fully immerse myself in another reality for hours on end and I love that my work allows others to do the same."
