“This is Ali Hazelwood's best book yet, and the urge to write a review as unhinged as it made me feel is STRONG. Deep End hit all the right notes, and the narration of the audiobook was possibly the best I've ever had the pleasure of listening to. Every single thing about this was perfect. Perfectly crafted, perfectly produced, and perfectly horny (am I allowed to say that outside of my bookstagram? It's true!) Perfect for anyone looking to get Whet (IYKYK).”

“Is this my favorite Ali Hazelwood book now?? 100%!!!! I loved everything about this but MOST IMPORTANTLY the dialogue between Lukas and Scarlett is SO JUICY. IT SIZZLED. Not a wasted word, every exchange is liquid gold, tense (the good kind of tension), flirty, and addictive.”

“Anyone who has read Ali Hazelwood's work before is aware of what to anticipate. She still takes the same strategy, but with a dash of BDSM.”

“A spicy sports romance with a unique twist on the love triangle trope. A fun read that left me seriously considering Swedish accents and their attractiveness! ”

“A fun Ali Hazelwood story! I love that she mixes her knowledge of science and medicine into her books. I think Hazelwood makes sex talk and "intimate", not to be talked about, topics down to earth and by writing about subjects that are typically taboo, like BDSM, she opens up the conversation to "regular people". She is a great story teller and makes what she's writing accessible to all. I resonate with the main character being unsure of herself and often laughed out loud at her conversations with herself, I've been there! The relationship between her and Lucas was sweet and spicy and I really enjoyed their story and their overall connection. The secondary characters, the boys from the swim team and housemates, Ali's friends were approachable and added to the overall story. All in all, I enjoyed this book.”

“A welcome step outside my comfort zone, Deep End gave me a new appreciation for both diving and kink! Scarlet and Lukas are set up together when it’s discovered that they have complementary kinks. Both pre-med student athletes at Stanford, Scarlett is a diver who hasn’t been able to get over a mental block despite healing physically from a big injury, and Lukas is a swimmer from Sweden with a long history of winning. Although their initial agreement is purely sexual, Scarlett and Lukas help each other trust and let go of control in the deep end of both the bedroom and their lives. The kink is mild, the sex is hot, the story is lovely, and the narration? Exquisite.”

“I devoured this book in a single day and haven’t stopped thinking about it two weeks later. Deep End explores conversations around kink and power thoughtfully without hyper-sexualizing or fetishizing its protagonists. I deeply (get it?) appreciated this book’s care and thoughtfulness in navigating what often is dismissed as taboo. ”

“Very fun and realistic story. I loved that their whole relationship felt like it could happen in real life and was a realistic representation of a college relationship. ”

A competitive diver and an ace swimmer jump into forbidden waters in this steamy college romance from the New York Times bestselling author of The Love Hypothesis.
Scarlett Vandermeer is swimming upstream. A Junior at Stanford and a student-athlete who specializes in platform diving, Scarlett prefers to keep her head down, concentrating on getting into med school and on recovering from the injury that almost ended her career. She has no time for relationships—at least, that’s what she tells herself.
Swim captain, world champion, all-around aquatics golden boy, Lukas Blomqvist thrives on discipline. It’s how he wins gold medals and breaks records: complete focus, with every stroke. On the surface, Lukas and Scarlett have nothing in common. Until a well-guarded secret slips out, and everything changes.
So they start an arrangement. And as the pressure leading to the Olympics heats up, so does their relationship. It was supposed to be just a temporary, mutually satisfying fling. But when staying away from Lukas becomes impossible, Scarlett realizes that her heart might be treading into dangerous water...
Ali Hazelwood is the #1 New York Times bestselling author of Love, Theoretically and The Love Hypothesis, as well as a writer of peer-reviewed articles about brain science, in which no one makes out and the ever after is not always happy. Originally from Italy, she lived in Germany and Japan before moving to the US to pursue a PhD in neuroscience. When Ali is not at work, she can be found crocheting, eating cake pops, or watching sci-fi movies with her three feline overlords (and her slightly-less-feline husband).
